GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: Quicken Loans National – Robert Trent Jones Golf Club

This week we head to Gainesville, Virginia for the Quicken Loans National at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. While this is the first PGA Tour event to be held at the course, it has served as host of the Presidents Cup several times in recent history. Two-time champion and tournament host, Tiger Woods, will be in the field this week. We’ll see if he can bounce back from a disappointing Open Championship two weeks ago.

GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: John Deere Classic – TPC Deere Run

Birdies! Eagles! And Albatrosses – oh my! If you’re a bird lover this is likely your favorite tournament of the year. There are some clear favorites as usual (ZJ, Stricks, Spieth), but either way the winner will need to go low for 4 days and everyone else better be a few under par by Friday afternoon if they plan to play the weekend.

GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: Travelers Championship – TPC River Highlands

After a week of grinding through the US Open’s tough set up, inconsistent greens, and annual slugfest of international heavyweights, the Travelers Championship has a tough act to follow. The short par 70 TPC River Highlands lends itself to low scores and an entirely different approach than a US Open track. Scoring will be, and always is low, and is often referred to as a ‘shootout’ – a category the US Open would rarely fall into. Many of the contenders from last week are scheduled to play this week in CT, so it should be interesting to see how they follow up their performances at Chambers Bay.

GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: U.S. Open – Chambers Bay

The second major of the year is upon us! This year the 115th edition of the U.S. Open will be held in the Pacific Northwest (for the first time ever) at Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington. The Robert Trent Jones, Jr. course is a links-style layout and is only 8 years-old. The par-70 course should play around 7,700 yards although it could be maxed out at a whopping 7,906 yards.

GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: St. Jude Classic – TPC Southwind

This week’s St. Jude Classic serves as the perennial opening act for the second major of the year. I like to break up the players in this week’s field into two groups: (1) Players tuning up for next week’s US Open (2) Players looking to win the St. Jude Classic. Part of the reason it’s […]

GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village

This week the PGA Tour heads to Muirfield Village for Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Tournament. As usual, thanks to its honorable host, the event has drawn a strong field with Spieth, Rose, Fowler, Day and Dustin Johnson headlining. Tiger will be in the mix as well, playing in his first tournament since the PLAYERS and only his fifth of 2015.

GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial

This week we have the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, TX. The field is quite strong this year with some of the favorites being local Texans (i.e., Spieth, Palmer, Walker). While the Colonial has plenty of history, it really is considered a stock par 70 golf course measuring at 7,204 yards and with relatively tight fairways.

GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: Wells Fargo Championship – Quail Hollow

This week the Wells Fargo has a tough task: follow behind a Players tournament for the ages. Last weekend’s finish was great to watch, and if Quail Hollow (future site of the 2017 PGA Championship) offers up anything even close to it, we’ll be in for a treat

GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass

The Players Championship, often considered to be the fifth major, draws one of the best fields of the PGA Tour season. This year will be no different as TPC Sawgrass and the infamous 17th hole island green host the best golfers in the world for the 42nd year.

GolfMatch Fantasy Forecast: Zurich Classic of New Orleans

The PGA Tour is heading to the bayou! In between crawfish and jambalaya binges there should be some stellar golf being played this weekend with some big names making their way down to NOLA. The event is being held at TPC Louisiana – a 7,425 yard par 72 – famous for its sectioned and very […]
